In the War Gallery the artist recounts his experiences of the Bosnian conflict through powerful and moving images. Each painting tells a story, many of which are immediately obvious, others more subtle but no less powerful and thought provoking; they bear witness to the horrors of war that Enko and his family experienced on a daily basis. Of all the paintings, ‘Unfinished Circle’ may be considered the most important, as it chronicles the complete story, from the outset of war to present day. It was ‘Unfinished Circle’ that inspired Enko to write the book, ‘Nezavrseni Krug’, which fittingly bears the same name. |
